Another huge part of this project was the mentor text activity. A mentor text is an article written either about the topic we're writing about or in a similar manner to the way that we want to write our piece. This served two purposes. The first was that this would serve, as I mentioned before, as a way to see a writing style that we may want to imitate. The second (if applicable) was that it would serve as research. My mentor text was about Genndy Tartakovsky, the creator of Samurai Jack. This article was written very similarly to what I had at the time and it pertained to the exact subject that I was writing about (cartoons not Genndy).
