Part 1: Net Price Calculator Spreadsheet
Problem Statement:
Our goal was to create a spreadsheet of fake students so that students and parents at parent night could estimate their own Cost of college.
My Process:
This particular problem didn't require much calculation. We just had a set of information: a GPA, taxes, the number in a household, etc. Once we had that information all we had to do was input the info into net price calculators which are calculators online that allow you to see approximately how much you'd pay for a college.

Solution:
None of us had the same solution. Everybody came up with different solutions since we inputted different information. So I guess that the final solution could be the success that our project had during the Senior college night. A lot of the parents found our information helpful. Otherwise you could look at the attached picture and link.
Self-Assessment:
I think I did pretty good on this part of the project. There really wasn't much room to mess up on we just had to take our fake student information and input it and we were done. So I'd say I should get an A the only way you could get any lower than that would be by not doing the assignment.
Part 2:Loans
Problem Statement:
Our goal was to create calculators to calculate how much students and parents would borrow, and monthly payments will be as well as the total amount paid on those loans.
Process:
The process of solving this problem involved creating a calculator on Google Spreadsheets that would allow us to calculate how much a student and a parent would have to take out (loans) to pay for college. The calculator was designed so that You could put in any amount and it would be calculated. Mine is here, also seen below.

Solution:
Everybody was able to solve the problem since all it really involved was everybody making the same calculator on Google Spreadsheets. The solution just ended up being the right amount coming out of the other end of the calculator.
Self-Assessment:
I think I did pretty good on this project. I definitely used Hypothesizing/Experimenting since making a calculator on Google Spreadsheets isn't very easy so I had to try out a lot of things. I'd again give myself an A.
Part 3: Return On Investment
Problem Statement:
Our goals were: to compare two courses in life, financially, represent the difference in "total amount made in my lifetime" based on those two paths; as well as to make a presentation for our parents and to actually present to them.
Process:
The process involved in this part of the project was to make a presentation. All we had to do was fill out net price calculators for ourselves, assess which colleges we would like to attend, and finally place that information into a presentation we'd make to our parents.
Solution:
The final product of this project was just the completed presentation. I feel mine turned out fairly well. Here is the link to my presentation and below is a graph that I made to compare the carers of IT Specialist and Computer Engineer.

My mom said she was impresse with the amSelf-Assessment:
This being the final part of the project I put a lot of effort into my presenting of the information. I feel I put on a very good presentation. Below you can see a picture of the rubric my mom filled out as well as a selfie I took with her after the presentation.

Parent Feedback
I feel that the presentation with my parents went very well. To be honest most of the things in this presentation had been discussed previously. We had already settled that I would be aiming for a computer engineering career at UCSD. We had decided upon that since UCSD is a good engineering school and it's close enough to commute, therefore saving on dorm expenses. In all honesty one of the bigger reasons that I want to stay at home is to make sure my little brother isn't alone through high school, we discussed this during my presentation, due tears were shed. There wasn't much debate on the propositions, only requests to explain why they were so, this was a bit difficult for some section. If I had to say where I struggled anywhere it would have to be when explaining loans and other monetary aspects of my presentation. Overall I feel it went very well.
